Top 5 Tea Blends

We love a good tea early in the morning or iced in the afternoon. Did you know that tea is the second most consumed drink in the world? First is water, of course! Below are some of our favorite tea's along with their benefits. As always, please consult your physician about possible interference with medications before trying a new tea blend.

Dandelion is a very rich source of vitamin C, fiber potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, and phosphorus. Dandelion contains protein too, more than spinach to be exact. It has been eaten for thousands of years and used to treat anemia, scurvy, skin problems, blood disorders, and depression. Try this yummy tea with your favorite pastry!

Rooibos tea comes from a South African bush plant. It is not considered a true tea, but a medicinal herb that offers great benefits for the body. This tea is caffeine free that has been known to help with insomnia, asthma, hypertension, and allergies. This tea can also help ease severe stomach cramps!

Valerian is a flowering native plant to Europe, Asia, and America. Valerian root is said to help with insomnia, and anxiety. When taken at the correct dose, it may help with sedation.

Black tea is known for providing great benefits for the body when taken without any milk, honey, or sugar. Studies have shown that black tea is great for oral health. It reduces plaque formation and reduces bacteria growth. It also provides great antioxidants, prevents cancer, promotes healthy bones, relieves stress, improves immunity, promotes a healthy digestive tract, and increases energy!

Milk thistle seed has a history dating back over two thousand years as a favorite among herbalists for it's positive effects on the liver and gallbladder. The seeds contain the highest concentrations of the active compound, silymarin. Silymarin is an antioxidant that reduces free radical production and oxidative damage. It may also inhibit the binding of toxins to the liver.
