Did you know that some major fashion shows construct their runways based on the number of VIP's attending? We didn't know that either. We have learned some surprising facts about New York Fashion Week and we wanted to share them with you.
Fact #1. Did you know that fashion week takes place in about 40 weeks all around the world every year? The biggest four, in the same order every year, are New York, London, Milan, and finally, Paris.
Fact #2. It is extremely difficult to get into these fashion shows. Due to space being so tight and limited, tickets generally go to celebrities, editors, and fashion industry insiders. You cannot buy tickets for these shows.
Fact #3. The youngest model to walk the runways was 16 years old. The oldest was 81 years old. Wow!
Fact #4: Designers pay for their own fashion shows. That price could be anywhere from $15,000 to $50,000.
Fact#5: A photographer gets a tiny 1' x 1' space in a pit by the end of the runway to take pictures. Crazy, right?
